IN the NEWS

7 July - Aia Software announced that it signed a partnership with Hg197. This North American company is dedicated to developing and supporting innovative software for data management. The ITP Document Platform will be added to Hg197’s document and print software and services portfolio. Through this partnership Aia Software enlarges its footprint in the American and Canadian market. This is in line with Aia’s strategy to strongly increase their market share in the United States and Canada. By adding the ITP Document Platform to its product portfolio, Hg197 can now offer clients an end-to-end solution for document composition reengineering and lifecycle management.

6 July - Label Traxx Version 5.6 - now in beta testingand scheduled for full release later in 2010 by Tailored Solutions, the developer - reduces file preparation time for label printers using both conventional and digital presses, including the HP Indigo W6000.  The Label Traxx digital file planner enables prepress operators to automatically arrange grouped labels into files or plates for press and reduces prepress processing time by 90 percent or more in most cases. When a label printer moves to digital print, they typically process more short-run orders.  In many cases, each order may contain a number of SKUs, or variants of the same product, and the customer may order varying quantities of each SKU.  Typically, prepress operators must spend a great deal of time calculating the most efficient way to “gang” those labels across the web into files or plates, to minimize splicing and the number of overs produced.  In many cases, prepress can become a severe bottleneck in the digital workflow. http://www.tailored.com

OCE

30 June - Océ announced the new Océ ColorWave® 300 Top Delivery Tray. This is the world's first stacker that stacks many types of inkjet media on top of the printer, reducing space requirements to a minimum.

29 June -In a recent document management industry survey sponsored by Océ Business Services, 83 percent of respondents indicated that their organization has a records management program in place. However, only 10 percent of the executives surveyed said their company's program included an integrated electronic records repository. This indicates that integrating digital processes and technology into their records programs could be an untapped opportunity for many companies.

Today's challenging business environment includes stringent statutory and regulatory mandates from a host of entities that require following specific processes. Digitizing business records – when implemented in an organized fashion using best practices – can help ensure that records are easily retrievable, storage costs are under control, legal discovery costs are mitigated and the organization is compliant.

29 June - Relyco, a leading provider of value-added business printing solutions, business equipment, and check printing software, announced its innovative FLEXCHEK  check signing software that enables users to efficiently and securely automate the signing of checks directly from any off-the-shelf accounting software package.  FLEXCHEK allows users to easily import and manage multiple signatures and automatically applies the signature(s) to either pre-printed or blank stock checks that can be printed using existing laser printers – expediting the check issuing process and reducing significant costs associated with expensive hardware solutions.
